We held our first event of the New Year where David Leslie, father in law of Jonathan & father of Claire, the owners of Sloemotion, gave a talk on the history of the Company & sloes, taking us through their wide range of products from sloe infused spirits to the chutneys, jelly & truffles made from the alcohol infused sloes left at the end of the process. Apparently, the only part of the sloe wasted currently is the stone so any ideas will be warmly welcomed!

The evening got off to a good start with mulled SloemotionNo7 & pomegranate followed by lamb cooked in sloe gin. David then followed this with his talk & the all important samples!! They went down very well with everyone working out their favourite tipple. I think it took a few samples of each one to come to any real conclusion!

This was followed up with a cheeseboard & the sloe motion chutneys & last but not least, a truffle with coffee!

Our thanks first to David for giving up his evening to provide us with a very entertaining & informative talk, to Sloemotion for providing the (very well received) samples, to everyone who attended the event & made it such an enjoyable evening & finally, to Marie, Cara & Christine, our chef & the waiting staff for the lovely food & great service!!
