We specialise in local cheese from The Northumberland Cheese Company and Doddington Cheese Company.

All our cheeses are cut to order and we have an impressve cheese selection including: English, Irish, Scottish, Welsh and other Continental cheeses to tempt your palate.

You can order the cheese for "shop pick up" or for "delivery" at the checkout.

Hard cheeses cut to order such as Cheddar and blues like Stilton, if carefully wrapped and stored (when received) in waxed paper or foil, keep for a week or more.

Soft cheeses cut to order such as Brie and Camembert are more temperamental. As a result we advise that you only order what you are planning to eat in the next three to four days. We will deliver all soft cheeses with a cold pad to keep cool during transport.

CAMBOZOLA CHEESE

CAMBOZOLA CHEESE

Cambozola is a soft cow's milk cheese that is a combination of a French soft-ripened triple cream cheese and Italian Gorgonzola. Pasteurised and made in Germany.

It is made from the same blue mold used to make Gorgonzola, Roquefort, and Stilton. Cream is added to the milk, giving Cambozola a rich consistency.

The rind of the cheese is similar to the Camembert rind. It features a smooth, creamy texture with a subdued blue flavour.

CORNISH YARG CHEESE

CORNISH YARG CHEESE

Cornish Yarg cheese is still made by hand in open vats (as it always has been) by Lynher Dairies in West Cornwall. The milk comes from the home farm and ten of its near dairy farming neighbours.The cheese is brined overnight before big juicy nettle leaves are carefully wrapped around each one. The leaves help the Yarg mature and develop its characteristic creamy, yet slightly crumbly texture, whilst adding a subtle, delicate flavour to the cheese.

Throughout the year and as the milk changes Yarg will be a little softer or firmer, a bit more crumbly or slightly more creamy. Right now it has a great balance between the crumble of the core and the creaminess of the maturing cheese under the rind.

Doddington Cheese can best be described as a British Territorial cheese, which lies somewhere between a Leicester and a Cheddar variation.

Made with the fresh warm unpasteurised milk from our own cows and matured to over twelve months. Made in Northumberland.

By this time the Doddington has developed exceptional flavours most noteably sweet caramel and nutty characteristics. Once tasted it has a complex aroma and a very satisfying long finish on the tongue.

This is a cheese for true food lovers and cheese officiados.  £17.40 / Kg

Berwick Edge Cheese can best be described as a strong and fruity Gouda style cheese which is smooth in texture, it's flavours are typically strong and farmy. Made in Northumberland by Doddington Dairy.

Again made using unpasteurised milk of our own cows it captures a myriad of flavours, most notably fresh pineapple with a citrus tang.
